Submitting an edf electric or gas meter reading

    You may need to submit your own electric or gas meter reading if either of the following cases apply to you:

        • You were not at home when the ERDF/GrDF network technician came for your meter reading. In this case, you can send us your own meter reading:

          By phone :
          Contact our interactive voice response system at +33 (0)820 333 433 (€0.118 per minute from a landline in France).

          By postal mail :
          Simply fill out and mail the prepaid postage card left by the ERDF/GrDF network technician within 15 days of receiving the card.


        • If you want to pay your bill based on your actual energy usage instead of your estimated usage, simply read your meter on the dates indicated on your bill and submit your reading:

          Contact us at +33 (0)9 69 32 15 15 from 8 am to 9 pm, Monday to Friday (cost of a local call from a landline in France)

          At an EDF location:

          Online :
          Sign up for our free Self-Metering Service and submit your meter reading on the French website.
